Early Life

DJ Roko, born Roland Kieff, hails from the West Midlands, England. Diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of seven and facing bullying throughout his early schooling, Roko found healing and focus in music. He began teaching himself piano as a child and transitioned into DJing by the age of 17, fueled by his love for both classic synth music and contemporary electronic sounds.

Career

Roko's music draws inspiration from pioneers like Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, and the Human League, while also embracing modern influences such as Calvin Harris, Tiësto, and David Guetta.

His breakout singles, including "Velocity" and "You Better", garnered over 30,000 Spotify streams each. In 2024, he released "Heaven", a high-energy EDM track celebrating joy and elevation, followed by "By Your Side", a disco-house collaboration with Novaman.

Roko is currently preparing his debut EDM album and has announced an upcoming charity single titled "Eternally", which will support Cash for Kids Glasgow. His production style emphasizes upbeat, melodic storytelling layered with real instruments like piano and strings—designed to evoke emotion and movement.

Now based in Glasgow, Scotland, DJ Roko is a husband and father. Family remains a significant inspiration behind his music and his mission to uplift listeners.
